INVERURIE MAN GUILTY OF SEX TOY ASSAULT ON ELDERLY NEIGHBOR
An Inverurie pensioner has been registered as a sex offender after he assaulted his elderly neighbour in Tarves with a sex toy.John Donald McBoyle visited his then-76-year-old neighbour’s residence to assist with her boiler but also brought along a vibrator and lubricant. The vulnerable woman, who suffers from anxiety and is a stroke survivor, felt terrified during the encounter.
McBoyle cornered her and forced the vibrator upon her, insisting she liked it.McBoyle, aged 73 and married, appeared in Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Thursday and was placed on the sex offenders register before sentencing in May.
Fiscal depute Anne McDonald described the victim as a 76-year-old woman who lived alone and was frail due to her health conditions.During the court proceedings, it was revealed that, on July 26, around 11:45 am, McBoyle entered her home to work on her boiler.
Later, at about 3 pm, he demonstrated a vibrator to her, standing very close and blocking her path.
He then held the vibrator against her, despite her protests, and attempted to manipulate her with it.Ms McDonald stated: “The complainer was scared of what the accused was going to do and felt he was much more powerful and stronger than her.” McBoyle left the scene after making a comment that she would “enjoy it” and later surrendered to police.
He pled guilty to sexual assault, and the court took steps to forfeit the vibrator and impose notification requirements under the Sexual Offences Act.
The sheriff deferred sentencing pending background reports, with mitigation reserved by the defense.
