JOHN COXON FROM FLIXTON SENTENCED TO 12 YEARS FOR CHILD RAPE IN MANCHESTER

In a significant case that has shocked the community of Flixton and the wider Manchester area, a 49-year-old man named John Coxon has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being convicted of multiple serious sexual offenses involving children. The sentencing took place at Minshull Street Crown Court, where Coxon was handed a 12-year prison sentence following his guilty plea to a series of heinous crimes.

On September 25, Coxon admitted to six counts of rape, ten counts of buggery, and five counts of indecent assault. These charges stem from a disturbing pattern of abuse that he committed over a span of nine years during the 1980s, targeting two young children. The crimes were only brought to light after the victims reported the abuse to authorities in December 2007, prompting a police investigation that eventually led to Coxon’s arrest and prosecution.

In addition to his prison sentence, Coxon has been placed under an indefinite Sex Offenders’ Prevention Order.
