An Ardrossan man will face trial after he was accused of assaulting his ex-partner.
John Alcroft, 26, of Dalry Road, denies an assault which occurred in Ardrossan on September 1 of this year where he allegedly spat at his ex-partner, repeatedly punched her on the head, pinned her up against a railing and kicked her on the body.
On the same day, Alcroft is also accused of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer from fear or alarm, by shouting, swearing, uttering threats and lunging at a child.
Alcroft pled not guilty to both charges last week at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court and will face trial in November after being released on bail.
