A teenage Sea Cadet leader who recorded and did not intervene in a sexual assault on a sleeping young boy has been sentenced to 300 hours of unpaid work and placed under social work supervision for two years. Jerome Gay, aged 18, was found guilty of recording the incident that took place at an Army Cadet Centre in 2012, when another cadet assaulted a 12-year-old boy. Additionally, Gay has been added to the sex offenders’ register for a period of two years but has avoided imprisonment.
