JEFF ROBINSON FROM TEBWORTH SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENSES IN BEDFORDSHIRE AND NORTHAMPTONSHIRE

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Tebworth and the surrounding areas, Jeff Robinson, a man residing on Vine Road in Tebworth near Leighton Buzzard, has been convicted of heinous crimes involving the exploitation of a young child. The case came to light after police investigations revealed a series of disturbing online communications and the possession of indecent images involving minors.

Robinson, aged 52 at the time of sentencing, had engaged in illicit activities that included creating and sharing indecent photographs of a five-year-old girl. These images were accompanied by sexually explicit descriptions purportedly detailing acts committed against the child. The evidence was uncovered after authorities traced communications between Robinson and an unidentified man in Northamptonshire, who was later arrested in connection with the case.

The online exchanges between Robinson and the Northamptonshire man were conducted via a specialized messaging application that allowed users to remain anonymous. During these conversations, Robinson openly discussed his sexual interest in children, specifically mentioning a five-year-old girl. At one point, he suggested to the other man, “If you are interested we can have a lot of fun with her,” indicating a willingness to facilitate or encourage abuse.

Further messages revealed Robinson’s desire for the other man to sexually abuse the child, with him expressing enthusiasm about the prospect. He also inquired whether the other man’s interest was merely a fantasy or if he actively engaged in such activities. Robinson’s own sexual activities involving children were detailed in the messages, and he sent explicit photographs of the young girl to the other man.

Police investigations intensified after the Northamptonshire man was detained in November 2018. A forensic examination of his mobile phone uncovered the communications with Robinson, including the indecent images sent by Robinson. The authorities’ efforts to locate Robinson led to his arrest in July of the following year at his residence in Tebworth.

During the search of Robinson’s mobile device, officers discovered a total of 72 images depicting young children, including the five-year-old girl referenced in the online chats. The evidence presented in court painted a disturbing picture of Robinson’s involvement in the production and distribution of child exploitation material.

At a hearing held at Luton Crown Court on July 10, Robinson pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including making indecent images of a child, possessing a prohibited image of a child, taking an indecent photograph of a child, and publishing an obscene article. Prosecutor Daniel Wright outlined the timeline of events, emphasizing Robinson’s prior involvement in charity work, which contrasted sharply with his criminal activities.

Judge Tayton, presiding over the case, acknowledged that Robinson had not physically assaulted the child but emphasized the depraved nature of the material found on his phone. She described the images and descriptions as “graphic” and “depraved,” underscoring the severity of the offenses.

In her sentencing, the judge imposed a custodial term of two years and eight months. Additionally, Robinson’s name was ordered to be added to the sex offenders register, and he was subjected to a sexual harm prevention order designed to monitor and restrict his online activity. The court also ordered the destruction of his mobile phone and the forfeiture of the device as part of the proceedings.
