JASON WEBBER FROM BARNSTAPLE ESCAPES JAIL AFTER SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST 11-YEAR-OLD BOY
In a case that has shocked the community of Barnstaple, Jason Webber, now aged 18, faced the consequences of his disturbing actions committed when he was just 16 years old.The incident involved heinous sexual offences against a young boy, including rape and other serious acts of sexual assault.
Webber appeared before Exeter Magistrates Court to answer charges that included two counts of rape against a male child under the age of 13, as well as three counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a child under 13.
The court was informed that the abuse began when the victim was only 11 years old and persisted over a span of two years, during which Webber manipulated and coerced the young boy into engaging in depraved acts.
During the proceedings, it was revealed that Webber used violence and intimidation to enforce silence from his victim, making the abuse even more disturbing.
The court heard that Webber’s actions were calculated and manipulative, aimed at controlling the young boy and preventing him from speaking out.
Despite the severity of the offences, Webber was not sentenced to immediate imprisonment.
Instead, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of five years.
Additionally, a court order was put in place to restrict his contact with any individual under the age of 18, aiming to protect other potential victims from harm.
Furthermore, Webber was mandated to complete a number of hours of unpaid community work as part of his sentence.
The case has raised significant concern within the Barnstaple community, highlighting the importance of vigilance and safeguarding vulnerable children from exploitation and abuse.
