CHILD PREDATOR WHO RAPED FOUR GIRLS ARRESTED IN NORTH CORK AFTER FLEEING UK
A convicted sex offender who escaped to Ireland after being convicted of raping four young girls in the United Kingdom has been apprehended.
Authorities, including police and Gardaí, tracked Jason Spencer to a town in North Cork.
The 38-year-old from Pudsey was found guilty at Leeds Crown Court of several sexual offenses, such as four counts of rape and five counts of assault by touching, with all victims being under 13 years old.
He was also convicted of producing indecent images of children.
Although he was released on bail, he failed to appear in court, resulting in a warrant for his arrest.
After being on the run for 33 days, he was detained in Mallow, County Cork, and subsequently returned to the UK.
He received a lengthy prison sentence of 32 years, comprising 24 years in prison and an 8-year license period.
