2007: SEX OFFENDER JAILED OVER MOVE
A man registered as a sex offender has been sentenced to three months in prison for failing to inform authorities about his change of residence from Pershore to Headless Cross.Jason Shannon-Garvey, aged 36, admitted to violating the conditions of the Sex Offenders Register during a hearing at Worcester Crown Court.
His new address was accidentally uncovered after a packet of medication with his name was found in a Redditch park, as stated by prosecutor Sue Cliff.
Judge John Cavell emphasized that the purpose of sex offender registration is to safeguard the public and clarified that detention is compulsory.
He ordered that the time Shannon-Garvey has already served in custody, totaling 36 days, should be deducted from his sentence.
