KIDBROOKE WOMAN GIVEN PET BAN AFTER HUSKY SUFFERED AND DIED
A Kidbrooke woman has been banned from keeping pets after she allowed a husky to die following 'prolonged suffering'.
Jane Francis, aged 52, of Wricklemarsh Road, was found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal after a trial.
It was reported that between November 19 and December 19 of the previous year, she caused Siberian husky Simba to suffer by failing to provide adequate nutrition and veterinary treatment for a deep wound on the dog’s hind leg.
Magistrates noted, 'You caused prolonged suffering which should have been obvious to you and ultimately the dog died.' Last Friday, September 12, Francis appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court for sentencing, where she received a six-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months.
The court also ordered her to pay £2,000 towards the RSPCA’s prosecution costs and a surcharge of £154.
Additionally, she was banned from keeping any pets for a period of 10 years.
