JAN SVEJNOHA FROM STYAL FACES COURT OVER DOG'S SEVERE JAW INJURY IN WILMSLOW

Jan Pablo Svejnoha, a resident of Moss Lane in the village of Styal near Wilmslow, was brought before the court after failing to seek proper veterinary care for his dog, Zack, who suffered from a serious and unexplained injury to his jaw. Born in January 1967, Svejnoha has a criminal history that includes a previous conviction for producing Class A drugs, which adds context to his current legal issues.

According to court records, Svejnoha neglected to address Zack’s severe jaw injury, which was characterized by a significant loss of flesh and tissue. Instead of taking the dog to a veterinarian for professional treatment, Svejnoha attempted to treat the injury himself, a decision that likely contributed to the worsening of Zack’s condition. The origin of the injury remains unknown, and there was no evidence presented to clarify how Zack sustained such extensive damage.

It was revealed during the court proceedings that Zack was eventually taken into the care of the RSPCA, where he underwent surgery to clean and repair the wound. The veterinary intervention was successful, and Zack was reported to be recovering well following the procedure.

In sentencing, the court imposed a 12-month community order on Svejnoha, which includes a requirement to complete 240 hours of unpaid work. Additionally, Svejnoha was ordered to pay a total of £1,220 in fines and costs. As part of the penalty, he was disqualified from keeping dogs for a period of five years, although this disqualification expired in March 2022.

This case highlights ongoing concerns about animal welfare and the responsibilities of pet owners to seek timely and appropriate veterinary care for their animals. The incident took place in the Wilmslow area, specifically linked to the village of Styal, emphasizing the importance of community awareness and vigilance in safeguarding animal welfare.
