SWANSEA RAPIST HANDED EXTENDED JAIL SENTENCE AFTER OFFENCES INVOLVING FOUR WOMEN
A resident of Swansea has been sentenced to prison after admitting to three counts of rape along with additional offences involving four female victims.Jamil Ahmed, aged 28 and from Clydach, raped one victim after threatening violence if she did not comply with his demands.
In July, Ahmed changed his plea to guilty for one count of rape and controlling and coercive behaviour, having previously pleaded not guilty.
Overall, he admitted to three rape charges, three counts of controlling and coercive behaviour, and one harassment charge that instilled fear of violence in his victim.
He received a prison sentence of 20 years, with an eight-year extended period, all to be served concurrently.
Detective Constable Judith Williams commented: “Jamil Ahmed terrified his victims through violent episodes and threats, leaving them feeling powerless and forced to comply with his abusive commands.
“These actions were part of a sustained pattern of behaviour rather than isolated incidents, which significantly influenced the court’s decision to impose a lengthy sentence.
“We commend the victims for their courage in coming forward and hope they can now begin to rebuild their lives knowing that Ahmed will no longer pose a threat to them.”
