A man from Swansea has received a custodial sentence after being convicted of multiple serious charges involving a woman.
Jamie Rawson, aged 56 and residing in the city centre, committed a prolonged assault on his victim, whom he had only just met on the evening of February 8, 2025.
The attack included rape, false imprisonment, bodily harm, and strangulation.
Initially denying all allegations, Rawson was ultimately convicted of one count each of rape, false imprisonment, assault causing actual bodily harm, and intentional strangulation.
He has been sentenced to 12 years in prison, with an additional five-year extension, bringing the total sentence to 17 years.
