PAEDOPHILE HAD 'SOME OF THE WORST' ABUSE IMAGES POLICE HAD EVER SEEN
A man shared hundreds of sick images with fellow paedophiles including videos and pictures of children as young as two, a court heard.Jamie McCallum, of Caeglas, Cross Hands, had a knock on the door from police officers in possession of a search warrant early on the morning of October 3, 2024.
A number of electronic devices were seized from McCallum's home and he even admitted to officers that he had indecent images of children on his mobile phone.
Data from that phone was downloaded and hundreds of indecent images were discovered that had been accessed between 2021 and 2024.

At Swansea Crown Court on Tuesday, April 7, prosecution barrister Hannah George explained how the searches revealed a haul of 331 Category A images, including videos as long as 11 minutes in length and images of girls aged between four and six being raped by an adult.
There were also 79 Category B images and 95 Category C images, including sexual images of children between the ages of two and four.
Evidence also showed that McCallum was involved in a network of people who were sharing indecent images of children.
Between February and October 2024, McCallum, now aged 46, distributed sick images of children on at least 32 occasions with 29 contacts via an online messaging service.
Miss George told the court the defendant had told others he would trade images for free, but in exchange for other images.
He also bragged to one online user about abuse of a child, saying it was the "best time of his life".
After his arrest McCallum answered "no comment" to questions from police, with an investigator saying the images found were "some of the worst" they had ever encountered.
In total, McCallum pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children and three counts of distributing indecent images of children.
He also pleaded guilty to one count of possessing a prohibited image of a child - namely a CGI video depicting a child between the age of six and eight having sex with a man.
In mitigation, barrister Dean Pulling conceded that "these are serious offences involving making and distributing indecent images of children up to and including Category A".
He told the court, however, that his client was "a man of previous good character" who had not offended in any way since his arrest in 2024.
He also said that McCallum's offending was part of a "fantasy".
Recorder Christian Jowett addressed McCallum in court and told him: "The offences are so serious that custody is unavoidable." McCallum was handed a custodial sentence of 13 months, half of which he will serve in prison with the remainder spent on licence.
He will also be the subject of a sexual harm prevention order for a period of 10 years.
