Dumfries Child Sexual Abuser
In February 2019, a 52-year-old man from Dumfries, Jamie Marshall, was convicted of child sexual offences but avoided a prison term. Marshall, of Newall Terrace, was found guilty in Dumfries Sheriff Court of sexually assaulting a girl under 13 by following her into a bathroom and pulling down her underwear. He was also convicted of lewd and indecent acts towards a girl under 12, having climbed into her bed while she was asleep to perform sexual touching. The court ordered Marshall to be under supervision for 12 months and mandated that he be placed on the sex offenders register for one year.
