Aberdeen Rapist
An individual from Aberdeen, Jamie Forbes, aged 33, has been found guilty of a series of serious criminal offenses committed against women over a span of several years. The conviction was handed down at the High Court in Aberdeen following a comprehensive and lengthy trial that examined numerous allegations and presented substantial evidence against him.

Forbes faced multiple charges, including the heinous act of raping one woman, as well as sexually assaulting another. The court also heard evidence of his involvement in attacks on other women between 2016 and 2023. Initially, Forbes denied all accusations, maintaining his innocence throughout the proceedings. However, the prosecution presented compelling evidence, including detailed testimonies from victims and a series of text messages that clearly indicated his guilt.

Among the specific incidents, Forbes was convicted of physically assaulting one woman by forcefully pushing her against a wall and shooting her with a BB gun. His abusive behavior extended to coercive control, threats of sexual violence, spitting on victims, and throwing household objects during episodes of domestic violence. Another woman was subjected to a pattern of domestic abuse characterized by shouting matches, name-calling, and aggressive behavior, which created a hostile and threatening environment.

The court also found him guilty of sexually assaulting a third woman after she had taken sleeping pills, rendering her vulnerable. Additionally, Forbes was convicted of raping a fourth woman during an incident where she was heavily sedated, which further underscored the severity of his crimes. Text exchanges between Forbes and this victim included apologies and pleas for her not to involve the police, highlighting his manipulative tactics.

Further charges involved a recent sexual assault involving a woman who was sedated with sleeping medication. An earlier charge of rape was dropped by the Crown, but the evidence presented in court painted a disturbing picture of his pattern of predatory behavior. Allegations concerning crimes against animals, specifically the shooting of his dog Thor, were also brought up but were ultimately dropped from the case.

The jury took approximately seven hours to deliberate on the ten charges brought against Forbes. During the investigation, police discovered several air rifles and BB guns at his residence, which supported the evidence of his violent tendencies. The court also took note of Forbes’ previous convictions for domestic abuse, including a case from 2022, and a non-harassment order that had been issued against him.

Judge Graham Buchanan chose to defer sentencing, but he remanded Forbes in custody, issuing a stern warning that a custodial sentence was imminent. As Forbes was led away in handcuffs, he was seen sobbing, reflecting the gravity of his situation. He is scheduled to return to court on May 30 for sentencing, marking a significant development in this disturbing case from Aberdeen.
