MAN FOUND WITH INDECENT CHILD IMAGES ON COMPUTER EQUIPMENT IS HANDED SUSPENDED SENTENCE
A man from Lakenheath, who had accumulated over 150 indecent images and videos of children on his electronic devices, has received a suspended jail term.Presenting at Ipswich Crown Court, 58-year-old James Matthews of Wings Road pleaded guilty to three charges of creating indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of a child, one count of possessing extreme pornography, and one charge of possessing a prohibited image of a child.
It was revealed that during a search warrant executed at his home in January, devices belonging to Matthews—including a USB flash drive, a laptop, and a mobile phone—were confiscated and analyzed.
The examination uncovered a total of 69 images and videos classified as level A (the most serious), 38 as level B, and 44 as level C.
Matthews was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for two years, and was ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid community service.
Additionally, he was subject to a 35-day rehabilitation activity requirement, placed under a five-year sexual harm prevention order, and mandated to register as a sex offender for ten years.
