MAN JAILED FOR FILMING UPSKIRTING CLIPS OF 20 WOMEN IN ONE NIGHT
A man known for repeatedly filming women up their skirts, who captured more than 20 victims in one night in Soho, has been given a prison sentence.James Manchand was detained on January 16 after authorities found nearly 30 videos of young women on his phone, recorded as he was loitering in queues outside West End entertainment venues.
He was already subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) following a previous act of voyeurism.
That evening, police approached him after noticing him lingering around groups of young women on Shaftesbury Avenue.
Footage shows officers questioning Manchand outside the Lyric Theatre after witnesses saw him approach three girls from behind.
During a search of his phone, an officer stated to a colleague: ‘I’ve examined this device and found videos of him raising his phone up girls’ skirts.
He is about to be detained for voyeurism.’ The device was found to contain 29 videos filmed that night, revealing more than 20 victims.
Manchand’s sentencing also considered a December breach of his SHPO, as he was found to have used a VPN to erase his browsing history and cookies.
The 62-year-old received a total sentence of 20 months at Westminster Magistrates Court on April 10.
This included 12 months for the SHPO breach, four months for recording beneath clothing, and an additional four months from a reactivated suspended sentence.
He was also ordered to surrender his phone and laptop to authorities.
