Coventry Child Abuser
A couple from Coventry have been sentenced after causing serious injuries to a six-month-old baby boy, police reported. James Laidlaw, aged 22, residing on Wexford Drive, Wood End, received a prison sentence of 19 years after being convicted of grievous bodily harm with intent and child cruelty. Tiffany Hilton, aged 27 from James Croft, was sentenced to three years for her role in causing or allowing harm to a child and child cruelty. The infant was brought to hospital on 17 May 2014, where medics identified thirty-two non-accidental injuries. The police stated that a jury at Warwick Justice Centre returned guilty verdicts on 20 October, prior to sentencing. For legal reasons, the child's name has not been disclosed, but the case highlights severe child abuse.
