ABERDEEN MAN ON SEX OFFENDERS REGISTER AFTER EXPOSING HIMSELF TO UNDERAGE GIRLS

A man named James Grieve, aged 32, has been placed on the sex offenders register for two years following incidents involving underage girls.

During a court hearing at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, it was revealed that Grieve had invited two girls, both under 16, into his home under the pretense of waiting for a pizza.

Court reports detailed that Grieve saw the girls playing in a communal garden, approached them, and later invited them into his house.

On two occasions, after leaving the living room, he was seen standing in his bedroom with his trousers partially down, exposing himself to the girls.

Subsequently, he exchanged Snapchat messages with them, sending sexualised messages requesting nude pictures, although neither girl responded to his requests.

Police examined these messages and questioned Grieve, leading to charges.

Defense attorney Neal Beardmore explained that Grieve had been drinking that day and that the situation turned sexual because of his intoxication, asserting that his client had since quit drinking and was remorseful.

Sheriff Janys Scott sentenced Grieve to a two-year community payback order with supervision and ordered him to complete 125 hours of unpaid work.

Additionally, Grieve was ordered to register as a sex offender for two years.
