JAMES ELLIS FROM NEWBOLD SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST TWO SCHOOLBOYS IN DERBYSHIRE
In a case that has shocked the local community, James Ellis, a resident of Newbold, was found guilty of a series of disturbing sexual offences committed against two young boys.The incidents took place over a period of six months, during which Ellis targeted two victims aged 13 and 15 years old, in the areas of Newbold and Dronfield within Derbyshire.
Derby Crown Court heard detailed accounts of Ellis’s actions, revealing a pattern of systematic abuse.
The court was informed that Ellis, who publicly claimed to be a psychic, exploited his position of trust to carry out these heinous acts.
The offences included engaging in sexual activity with a minor, inciting a child to participate in sexual acts, and other related misconduct.
Ellis’s criminal behavior also involved breaches of a sexual offences prevention order, which was put in place to protect the community from further harm.
Despite these restrictions, he continued to commit offences, leading to his conviction on multiple counts, including sexual activity with a child and inciting a child to engage in sexual acts.
Following the conviction, Ellis was sentenced to four years in prison, with an additional six-year extended licence period.
He was also placed on the sex offenders register and subjected to a sexual offences prevention order that will remain in effect indefinitely.
These measures are intended to monitor his behavior and prevent any future offences.
Ellis’s parole eligibility date is set for March 2016, with an automatic release date scheduled for July 2017.
The case has left the local community in shock, highlighting the importance of vigilance and safeguarding measures to protect vulnerable children from predators like Ellis.
