MAN WHO ATTACKED WIFE WITH IRON BOOT JACK JAILED FOR 30 MONTHS
A man has been sentenced to two years and six months in prison at York Crown Court after attacking his wife with an iron boot jack in their home.Carleen Blundell, who was left lying in the hallway covered in blood, described feeling petrified and fearing for her life.
The incident occurred in the village of Goldsborough, near Knaresborough.
James Blundell, 54, was arrested at the scene and later pleaded guilty to wounding with intent.
His wife said, "I was petrified.
I thought I was going to die." She has now spoken out about her experience, stating that she now sees herself as a survivor and aims to support others.
Det Con Abigail Garford mentioned that Carleen struggled with mental and physical difficulties after the attack and has worked hard to rebuild her life.
James Blundell also received a five-year restraining order as part of his sentence.
