A Chingford sex predator has been jailed after exploiting teenagers on social media and threatening them.
Jake Wright, 29, of Dells Close, was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court on January 25.
He received nine years' imprisonment, with four years on extended licence.
The Metropolitan Police were alerted to Wright in 2022 when a family contacted them after their teenager was contacted by him over social media, where he offered to send her £12,000 if she sent sexual photographs.
Wright also made threats, including sharing images with guns and threatening to kill victims, fulfilling those threats by later sending explicit images to victims' families and friends.
The investigation linked multiple reports, including a similar case in the West Midlands.
Wright pleaded guilty to causing sexual exploitation of a child, causing a child to engage in sexual activity, paying for sexual services of a child, and making indecent photographs of a child on May 18, 2023, and to threats to kill on September 21, 2022.
Det Con Samantha Thompson expressed concern for the victims and emphasized ongoing efforts to bring sexual predators to justice.
