ISLE OF WIGHT SEX OFFENDER CAUGHT WITH CHILD ABUSE IMAGES AGAIN
A man from the Isle of Wight, who is already listed on the Sex Offenders’ Register, has pleaded guilty to downloading numerous highly classified indecent images of children.Jake Moss, residing on Leed Street in Sandown, appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on Friday, June 12.
He confessed to three counts of producing indecent photographs of a young person.
The court was informed that police discovered a collection of illegal images on his mobile device after monitoring software—implemented following a previous conviction—detected suspicious activity.
On May 19 of the previous year, officers received a notification that Moss had been viewing images categorized as A, B, and C of children, explained prosecutor Serena Edwards.
Further inspection of his device revealed 44 images classified as Category A, the most severe, along with 33 in Category B and 13 in Category C.
Some of the minors in the images as young as four years old, the court was told.
The 20-year-old is already on the Sex Offenders’ Register following a conviction in 2020 for similar crimes, which led to a Referral Order, a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and mandatory registration.
Magistrates ordered Moss to complete the re-registration process within 72 hours of the hearing.
He was released on bail and is scheduled to appear at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on July 24.
