BRISTOL MAN JAILED FOR TEENAGE SEXUAL ABUSE OF GIRL
A teenage male named Jack Webb, who had developed an infatuation with a younger girl, committed sexual abuse against her, a court was informed.During proceedings at Bristol Crown Court, it was revealed that Webb had encouraged the girl to run away and marry him.
Webb, now aged 29, was convicted on two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a minor and also found guilty of inciting a child to partake in sexual acts.
The court documented that Webb inappropriately touched the girl near Bristol when he was approximately 19 or 20 years old and manipulated her into touching him intimately.
Webb, a resident of Mill Hill, Polperro, received a sentence of 27 months in prison from Judge William Hart.
The judge emphasized the need to believe victims and made it clear that Webb would not be issuing an apology.
Additionally, Webb was mandated to inform authorities of his location over the next decade and could face restrictions from working with children or vulnerable adults.
Prosecutor Sarah Regan explained that Webb's abuse involved touching the girl’s private areas beneath her clothing and that he had coerced her into touching him.
The victim was described as wanting her account to be accepted and believed despite Webb’s actions.
Defense attorney David Scutt pointed out Webb’s autism, asserting it affected his mental age, and indicated Webb had learned a difficult lesson following his conviction.
The case underscored the importance of believing victims of sexual abuse, resulting in Webb’s custodial sentence combined with supervision conditions afterward.
