LINCOLNSHIRE TEACHER JAILED FOR SEXUALLY ABUSING 14 BOYS
A former educator from Lincolnshire has been convicted of abusing 14 male minors.Jack Smith, aged 29, was found guilty of a total of 39 charges following a three-week trial held at Lincoln Crown Court.
His convictions include 30 counts of sexual assault and nine charges related to sexual communication with a child.
The court found that he exploited the trust associated with his role as a teacher and sentenced him to seven and a half years of imprisonment.
In addition to the custodial sentence, Smith has been banned from working with children, placed under a sexual harm prevention order, and a restraining order has been issued to restrict contact with the victims after his release.
Jurors heard that Smith began his probationary teaching role in September 2019 and was suspended in March 2024 amid allegations.
Evidence presented in court detailed instances of inappropriate touching, asking explicit questions about pornography, and grooming behaviours.
Victims recounted feelings of betrayal and harm to their self-confidence and trust.
The judge highlighted that Smith employed grooming strategies to manipulate his victims.
