SEX OFFENDER JACK MARSHALL BAILS AFTER THREATENING NEIGHBORS IN SYMINGTON
A registered sex offender Jack Marshall, who previously pleaded guilty to possessing a stash of child abuse images, has been involved in another troubling incident. He is accused of repeatedly causing fear and alarm by visiting the homes of three neighbors in Symington in the early hours of September 3, 2025.
According to court papers, Marshall approached these neighbors' addresses, banging on their front doors and then posting unwanted correspondence through their letterboxes.
This occurred while he was already subject to bail conditions granted on April 2 and August 26, 2025.
Marshall has faced accusations of failing to register with police as a sex offender within the required three days, as well as threatening or abusive behavior, for which he pleaded not guilty during a court hearing at Ayr Sheriff Court on September 5, 2025.
Prosecutors described him as presenting a 'substantial risk of further offending,' highlighting his previous conviction and conduct which caused public fear and alarm.
The court was told that Marshall had a belief he was uncovering a Russian spy nest, convinced he was working for a secret government organization, and that he thought passing lists of Russian spy names would help persuade authorities of his claims.
Despite this, he stated to the sheriff, 'I didn't think I was doing anything wrong.' The court considered his mental state and ongoing beliefs, and he was bailed after the prosecution requested that detention be continued.
The judge emphasized the serious nature of his actions and the risk they posed to the community.
