MAN FILMED WOMAN GETTING CHANGED AT POWYS LEISURE CENTRE
A man identified as Jack Griffin, aged 25, was sentenced after admitting to voyeurism at a Powys leisure centre, where he secretly filmed a woman getting changed.
The incident involved Griffin recording three videos on his phone, with the woman being unaware of the recordings.
During court proceedings, it was revealed that Griffin claimed he was "curious" about the victim's breasts.
The woman expressed her feelings of being 'disgusted, incredibly upset, and extremely hurt,' stating that she felt betrayed and that her perception of the leisure centre as a safe space was shattered.
The court sentenced Griffin on September 2, 2025, to a 24-month community order including 25 rehabilitation activity requirement days and 200 hours of unpaid work.
He was also ordered to pay £199 in court costs and to register as a sex offender for five years, while a restraining order prohibits him from contacting his victim.
Griffin, who lives in Merriott near Yeovil in Somerset, has no prior convictions and has engaged in therapy and educational modules to address his behaviour, with his solicitor describing the offense as a "moment of madness, a mistake".
