MAN, 23, ADMITS DOWNLOADING INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN
A 23-year-old man has admitted downloading indecent images of children, including some at the highest level of severity.Ivan Robertshaw will be sentenced at Bradford Crown Court after pleading guilty at Skipton Magistrates' Court to three separate charges of making indecent photographs between August 16 and October 14, 2022, in Ingleton.
Robertshaw, 23, admitted making a number of Category C moving and still images of a child, and also of Category B.
He also admitted making the most serious Category A images.
The court heard that police in Cumbria had been contacted by someone in December 2022, informing them that Robertshaw had been viewing indecent images on a mobile device.
North Yorkshire Police officers went to his home and seized a number of devices.
On one, officers found both still images and videos.
His browsing history also showed indecent images of children.
Children on the images included some as young as one to two years old, the court was told.
The court heard in mitigation that Robertshaw, a chef, of no previous convictions, was full of remorse and revulsion at what he had done.
Robertshaw, of Thornton in Lonsdale, Ingleton, was sent for sentencing to Bradford Crown Court on September 30.
He was given three days to sign on the sexual offenders' register at Kendal police station.
