IAN MCINTYRE FROM AUCHMACOY INVOLVED IN BRUTAL ATTACK IN ABERDEENSHIRE FARMHOUSE
A man named Ian McIntyre, whose age has not been disclosed, was involved in a violent and life-threatening assault at an old farmhouse located in Auchmacoy, Aberdeenshire. The incident, as detailed in court reports, reveals a disturbing act of aggression that left a woman in a highly vulnerable and perilous state.According to the court proceedings, McIntyre doused the woman with lighter fluid from head to toe, an act that demonstrated a clear intent to cause her serious harm. During the assault, he explicitly expressed his desire to set her ablaze, stating that he wanted to ignite her. The situation escalated further when McIntyre directed a lit lighter towards her leg, igniting a dangerous and potentially fatal scenario.
Police officers responded swiftly after receiving a 999 emergency call. Upon arrival at the scene, they encountered McIntyre exhibiting aggressive and threatening behavior. In a display of hostility, he continued to spray lighter fluid towards the officers, which prompted the deployment of firearms officers to intervene. The armed officers managed to remove McIntyre from the premises and bring him into custody.
During the journey to the police station, McIntyre made threatening remarks, including, “I pay £1,000 a month for that house. I just went berserk and thought I’ll set it ablaze,” revealing his disturbed mental state and possible motives behind the attack. He subsequently admitted to assaulting the victim with lighter fluid, making violent threats, and brandishing a lighter at her during the incident.
Further court disclosures indicated that McIntyre also assaulted police officers with lighter fluid, adding to the severity of his actions. He was charged with breaching a non-harassment order that prohibited him from approaching or contacting the victim. The victim managed to escape from the farmhouse in a distressed and frightened condition, while McIntyre was found sleeping at the property when police arrived, suggesting a level of detachment or disorientation.
The court has ordered a comprehensive background report and risk assessment to be conducted before proceeding with sentencing. At present, Ian McIntyre remains in custody, and the court has remanded him pending further evaluation. The incident at Auchmacoy, Aberdeenshire, underscores the seriousness of the charges and the potential danger posed by the defendant.
