SHOEBURY DOMESTIC ABUSER IAN CRANE JAILED FOR 69 MONTHS
A Southend man has been jailed for more than five years over a campaign of domestic abuse.
Ian Crane, 42, of Chaingate Avenue, Shoebury, was jailed for 69 months at Basildon Crown Court.
He was convicted of assault and engaging in coercive or controlling behaviour.
Between January and April 2025, the court heard, her demanded money from his female victim, forced her to “constantly clean” and told her what she could and could not wear.

Crane even made the woman delete friends from her social media.
The abuse had a “serious effect” on the woman.
He was also previously convicted of assaulting his victim, causing her actual bodily harm (ABH).
Judge Shane Collery sentenced Crane to 31 months for the controlling and coercive behaviour, plus 38 months consecutive for the assault.
He also imposed an indefinite restraining order banning Crane from contacting his victim by any means other than through solicitors for family court proceedings.
He is legally barred, forever, from coming within 100 metres of any places he “knows or believes” the woman to be.
