'IMMATURE' STALKER WAGED 'CAMPAIGN OF TERROR' ON CONSETT WOMAN
An "immature" stalker waged a “campaign of terror” against his ex unzipping her dress in public before calling her a "s**g".Hayden Watson, who was 21 at the time, sent threatening messages to the young woman, and after his arrest, turned up at her house in breach of his bail, throwing snowballs at the property until she rang 999.
Durham Crown Court was told after his further arrest and release on bail on condition not to contact or approach his former partner, Watson confronted her in the street, in Consett town centre and told her he had been watching her.
As she tried to walk on, he deliberately blocked her, followed her, assaulted her by pushing her over, before partly unzipping her dress, exposing her bra in public, and then called her a "s**g".
It was only when a Good Samaritan driver pulled over and picked up the terrified woman, that her ordeal ended.
Hayden Watson received a 37-month prison sentence after being convicted of six charges, including three of stalking.
The offences took place between November 22, 2024, and January 29, 2025, with the background being a relationship between Watson and the young woman between 2020 and 2022.
Watson also sent a threatening Snapchat voice note to a friend of hers saying he would kill people if she had the tattoo done.
He was arrested and later tried for three counts of stalking and one of assault by beating, and was convicted on all charges.
He had previously admitted to sending malicious communication and possession of cannabis.
Watson appealed his convictions but refused to leave his prison cell during the hearing in September, though the convictions were upheld.
He was sentenced to a total of 37 months in prison, with a restraining order prohibiting contact with the victim for an unlimited period.
