HULL MAN HABIB NOORZAI JAILED FOR LIFE FOR WIFE'S BRUTAL MURDER
A man named Habib Noorzai, aged 43, was convicted of the murder of his wife, Nasima Noorzai, in their home with their children present during the attack.According to police reports, Nasima was stabbed over 20 times on her face, neck, and upper back during the night of September 24, 2017.
After the assault, Noorzai wrapped her body in garbage bags and placed her into his car, aiming to bury her in a layby near the Humber Bridge.
He subsequently returned home, where he tried to clean the scene of the crime.
When Nasima did not bring her children to school two days later, her absence raised suspicion, and her body was found near a layby on the A15.
Noorzai pled guilty to the charge of murder and received a life sentence with a minimum term of 18 years.
The judge described him as 'abusive and controlling,' stating that 'by your actions, the children have been effectively orphaned.
Their mother was murdered by you, and you are no longer part of their lives.' The court also highlighted the severity of the attack, including the over 20 stab wounds and his attempt to conceal the crime.
The couple married in Afghanistan in 2004 and moved to the UK seven years later.
