NORTH WALES MAN JAILED FOR BLEACH ATTACK AND CANNABIS PRODUCTION
Guy Billington, residing in Maes Aled, Llansannan, Conwy, faced charges related to a violent assault on his partner.The incident happened after a relationship lasting about a year, which had become increasingly tumultuous.
On April 15, 2022, following a pub meal and a walk with their dog, Billington accused his partner of cheating, which triggered his anger.
He drove them home at high speed and assaulted her physically by hitting her with a drawer, pushing her, biting her finger, and punching her in the head.
Furthermore, he poured bleach onto her clothing in the bathroom and later threw the bleach bottle at her, causing the liquid to splash into her face and eyes, resulting in serious injuries.
The woman needed medical treatment at the hospital, where her eyes were washed and she remained for 12 hours.
She suffered partial vision loss in her left eye but retained some sight in her right eye.
During the attack, she escaped and called emergency services.
Billington also sent threatening messages on Facebook and was found with £20,000 worth of cannabis along with drying and growing equipment in their residence.
Police found 2 kilograms of cannabis and other cultivation tools, and the electricity meter had been bypassed.
The court sentenced Billington to serve 16 months for each offence, totaling two years and eight months, and issued a five-year restraining order.
The judge described the event as a terrifying experience for the victim, underscoring the seriousness of the assault.
