MAN JAILED FOR ASSAULT, THREATS, AND BREACHING RESTRAINING ORDER IN NOTTINGHAM
A man has been jailed after carrying out a string of assaults on a woman including punching her in the face and threatening to kill her.
Grzegorz Dytrych, 36, punched the woman in the face and hit her with a metal pole during separate attacks.
He also followed her to different locations over an eight-day period, despite the woman having a restraining order against him.
When his victim pointed this out and pleaded with him to leave her alone, Dytrych threatened to ‘smash her head’, if she called the police.
Dytrych breached the restraining order on May 28, 2021, by loitering outside the woman’s house and punching her in the face when she came outside, and telling her "I will kill you, I swear." He then continued to intimidate his victim on May 30, 2021, by confronting her and a friend while they shopped in Radford Road, Hyson Green, and giving a sinister warning by saying: "I will burn you, you will be dead".
On June 2, 2021, Dytrych carried on the ordeal by appearing suddenly and attacking the 37-year-old woman with a metal pole before then running away.
He was arrested after the woman returned home to find that he had damaged her front door and the window of her house.
Dytrych, of Randal Gardens, Hyson Green, appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday (March 4, 2022), having pleaded guilty to two counts of assault, four counts of harassment and breaching of a restraining order, as well as charges of making threats and criminal damage.
He was sentenced to five years in prison and handed a renewed restraining order.
Detective Constable Tracey Brock, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Dytrych subjected his victim to what must have been an extremely scary ordeal over several days.
Thankfully, the woman wasn’t seriously hurt following any of these dangerous attacks, which could quite easily have resulted in further violence and injury.”
