GRAHAM WILSON SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON FOR ATTEMPTED RAPE AT FARNHAM ROYAL SCOUT CAMP
In a harrowing case that has shocked the community of Farnham Royal, a man identified as Graham Wilson, aged 47, has been handed a life sentence after being convicted of attempting to sexually assault a 13-year-old boy while he was sleeping in a tent with his fellow scouts.Wilson, a resident of Rectory Close in Farnham Royal, Bucks, gained access to a local scout campsite in October of the previous year.
Once inside, he entered the boys' tent where the young scout was sleeping.
The incident took place during a period when the scout group was engaged in their outdoor activities, and the attack was carried out under the cover of night.
Wilson, who has a documented history of sexual offenses involving minors, pleaded guilty to charges of sexually assaulting three boys.
However, he denied the more serious charges of rape and attempted rape.
Despite his plea, the court found sufficient evidence to convict him of these grave offenses.
The judge ordered that Wilson serve a minimum of five years before he becomes eligible for parole, emphasizing the severity of his crimes.
In addition to the life sentence, Wilson was sentenced to six years for three counts of sexually molesting the attempted rape victim and two other boys aged 10 and 13.
