GRAHAM RUPP FROM BRIXHAM AND ASHBURTON RECEIVES SUSPENDED SENTENCE FOR CHILD SEX OFFENSES IN EXETER

In December 2016, a man from Brixham was sentenced in connection with a serious criminal offense involving a young girl.

Graham Rupp, who at the time resided on Rowan Way in Brixham, was found guilty of indecently assaulting a girl over a decade earlier.

The incident reportedly took place when the girl was approximately 12 years old, and the court heard that Rupp's actions included placing his hands inside her dress, rubbing her back with his hand, and nuzzling his face into her neck.

Despite denying the allegations, Rupp was convicted by a jury after a trial at Exeter Crown Court.

The court was presented with what was described as compelling evidence supporting the victim's account.

The judge, Recorder Philip Mott QC, emphasized the gravity of the case, stating, “You were convicted by the jury on the most compelling evidence.

You targeted a young victim and there was a significant disparity in age.” As a result of his conviction, Rupp was sentenced to six months in prison, but this sentence was suspended for two years, meaning he would not serve time unless he committed another offense within that period.

Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender and was required to pay costs amounting to £1,200.

It was noted that Rupp now resides in Roborough Terrace, Ashburton, as of November 2018, indicating a relocation from his previous address in Brixham.
