MAN JAILED FOR SEXUALLY ABUSING A CHILD
A man convicted of child rape has received a 21-year imprisonment sentence after abusing a young girl over several years in Warrington.Graham Jones, previously known as Graham Peacock and residing at Clonners Field, Stapeley, appeared before Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, October 10.
The court sentenced him to prison and also imposed an additional five-year extension on his license.
The 64-year-old had pleaded not guilty to multiple charges but was convicted after a trial.
The charges included four counts of rape, fourteen counts of indecent assault, and four counts of gross indecency with a child.
The court was informed that Jones had subjected the girl to abuse spanning several years in Warrington, starting when she was only nine years old.
The offences came to light in May 2022 when the victim courageously disclosed her experiences.
Following police investigations, Jones was arrested in June 2024 and faced multiple charges.
In addition to his prison term, Jones is mandated to register as a sex offender for life, and has been given an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order alongside restraining orders to ensure the victim's safety.
