GORDON STEWART: MAN FINED OVER TEXTS AND THREATS TO WOMAN
A man has been fined and ordered to stay away from a woman he repeatedly sent unwanted messages and made threats to.Gordon Stewart was convicted of two charges, including engaging in conduct that caused the victim to fear or alarm her.
The court heard that on September 9 and November 16, 2021, at an address in Cunninghame Crescent, Saltcoats and elsewhere, Stewart repeatedly sent the woman social media messages and texts filled with swearing, asked her to meet, and inquired about her personal life.
He also phoned her, left threatening voice messages, and sent messages to her current partner, even monitoring her movements and driving past her home.
The court noted that the offense was worsened by Stewart involving his partner or ex-partner.
Additionally, Stewart was found in possession of extreme pornographic images showing sexual activity between a person and an animal on November 16, 2021, at Mariners View in Ardrossan.
He was sentenced at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on March 2 to a fine of £4,175 and a non-harassment order, which prohibits him from contacting or communicating with the victim for a year.
