GLYN DAVIES OF KNIGHTSBRIDGE, LIVINGSTON, SENTENCED TO TWO YEARS FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AND SEXUAL ASSAULT

In October 2009, a disturbing case involving Glyn Davies, a man known for his role in the entertainment industry in Livingston, West Lothian, culminated in his being sentenced to two years in prison. Davies, aged 50, was found guilty of heinous crimes that included the sexual exploitation of a teenage girl and the possession of explicit images involving minors.

According to court records, Davies targeted a 17-year-old girl who was eager to pursue a career in modeling. He initially contacted her through a website where she had posted her name, expressing interest in her potential as a model. Davies then sent her an email offering her a free test shoot, which he arranged to conduct at her home in Livingston.

During the visit, the court heard that Davies, who operated his own agency called Lothian Variety based in Livingston, engaged in inappropriate behavior. The young girl, who was posing naked at his request, was subjected to unwanted physical contact when Davies touched her private parts. The girl, understandably distressed, fled from the room immediately after the incident.

Following her report to the police, authorities conducted a raid on Davies’ residence at Herd Green in Knightsridge. The search uncovered a disturbing collection of hardcore images depicting child abuse on his computer, further implicating him in serious criminal activity.

At the sentencing hearing held at the High Court in Edinburgh, Davies’ defense, led by solicitor advocate Richard Goddard, described him as a man whose life had been irreparably damaged by his actions. The defense highlighted that Davies, a former soldier, had previously served time in Northern Ireland, where he received a four-month sentence for indecency with a child.

Prosecutor Advocate depute David Young detailed the gravity of Davies’ offenses, emphasizing the exploitation of a vulnerable young girl and the possession of illicit images. The court was informed that Davies’ professional reputation and livelihood, built over two decades in the entertainment industry, had been destroyed by his criminal conduct.
