GLENN WEBB

Glenn Webb, of Madison Mews in Beck Row, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court yesterday, Thursday 14 May, where he has sentenced to 18 weeks’ imprisonment, suspended for 12 months.

The court heard that Webb had installed tracking and listening devices in the victim’s car, a family member’s car, and at her workplace.

The woman, who was known to him, became suspicious following comments Webb had made to her regarding her location and about private conversations she had with other people.

She went to a car repair garage, which located a black box with a tracking device near the rear bumper of a family member’s vehicle.

Police were called after the victim found a listening device hidden inside a plug wall socket at her workplace.

Officers conducted further searches of her vehicle, her family member’s car and at her workplace and recovered additional monitoring devices.

Enquiries confirmed that these had been purchased by Webb.

Webb was arrested on 3 May 2023, and a search of his home address resulted in the seizure of further electronic devices.

In addition to his sentence, he must comply with a 12-day rehabilitation programme, with a requirement to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work.

Webb was also handed a five-year restraining order.
