ABERDEEN MAN WHO SHARED ‘MOST SERIOUS’ INDECENT IMAGES OVER TELEGRAM JAILED
Gergo Veres, 42, was found in possession of thousands of images and videos featuring child abuse material across his mobile phones, laptop and hard drive when police raided his home.During a hearing earlier this week, Aberdeen Sheriff Court heard that officers discovered nearly 1,800 images and more than 300 videos on three of Veres’ personal devices.
Many of those images were graded as Category A – the most serious.
Veres also shared two Category A videos with others via the encrypted app Telegram.
Sheriff Craig Findlater told Veres how seriously the court viewed the distribution of such material and jailed him for 16 months.
Police got a warrant based on intelligence about Veres's device.
Police seized two phones, a laptop, and a hard drive.
Analysis found 1,792 indecent images of children – 603 of which were Category A – along with 331 videos, 205 of which were Category A, with a total runtime of over 12 hours.
Veres admitted to distribution and possession of child abuse material.
The court sentenced him to 16 months in jail and placed him on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
