CHILD PREDATOR JAILED FOR 32 OFFENCES
A man received a prison sentence after relentlessly pursuing two teenagers to coerce them into sending sexual videos and images, and was found in possession of indecent child images.George Rogers, 25, of Henleaze, Bristol, admitted to 32 offenses and was sentenced to three years and four months at Bristol Crown Court on Thursday.
The police stated that Rogers used a fake online identity as a girl to reach out to numerous children across Europe, the United States, and the UK.
One victim reported that Rogers' conduct caused her to fear leaving her home, while another shared that she now finds it hard to trust others and experiences anxiety in social situations with unfamiliar men.
Some parents indicated that their children’s school attendance was affected due to the emotional impact of the offences.
Detective Constable Mike Tarling from Avon and Somerset Police acknowledged the courage shown by the nine girls and their families who aided the investigation.
He emphasised the profound and lasting effects of Rogers' manipulative lies.
Rogers targeted two teenage girls in the West Mercia and Hampshire police areas, and reports about him were made in late 2022.
Following a warrant issued in February 2023, he was arrested and his digital devices were confiscated.
He pleaded guilty to 11 charges of sexual communication with a minor, 11 counts of creating indecent imagery of a child, and seven counts of threatening to reveal private sexual content in order to cause distress.
He also admitted to inciting girls between 13 and 15 to engage in sexual acts, as well as sending threatening communications.
In addition to his prison term, Rogers was subject to a sexual harm prevention order, registered permanently as a sex offender, and banned from working with children now and in future.
