ELDERLY MAN CAUGHT SECRETLY FILMING OVER 400 UPSKIRT VIDEOS

A pensioner named George Chilvers, aged 73, from Elgin Avenue, Ashton-in-Makerfield, secretly filmed over 400 'upskirting' videos during a campaign lasting almost fifteen years.

He was caught on CCTV filming women’s skirts at a Haydock supermarket and subsequently tracked down via his car and home raid.

The police discovered a total of 426 upskirting videos and two indecent images of a 13-year-old girl taken in Haydock on March 4, 2022.

Chilvers pleaded guilty at Liverpool Magistrates' Court to seven offences, including four related to upskirting, making an indecent image of a 13-year-old girl, possessing the image, and outraging public decency using a mobile camera to record beneath clothing.

The offences took place between 2009 and 2024.

He has no previous convictions and was remanded on bail to appear at the crown court for sentencing on April 4.

Magistrates ordered a pre-sentence report.
