FAITH HEALER GUILTY OF SEX ASSAULTS ON WOMEN
A 70-YEAR-OLD faith healer has been found guilty of sexually molesting three women. The victims were women who visited his Lightcliffe home for treatment.
After a four-day trial at Bradford Crown Court, the jury, consisting of seven women and five men, unanimously convicted Boak of two charges of sexual assault and one count of indecent assault.
Judge Jonathan Rose described the evidence against him as “overwhelming” and stated that his behaviour, including one woman being completely naked during treatment, was a serious breach of trust and utter depravity.
Boak, of Aysgarth Avenue, had denied the charges but will be sentenced on June 28 and may face a sexual offences prevention order which could restrict his ability to practice as a healer unless under supervision.
His barrister asked for the sentencing to be adjourned for further information about his wife’s circumstances, but bail was refused.
Boak showed no emotion when taken into custody.
