High Wycombe Child Sexual Abuser
In a significant case that has resonated throughout the High Wycombe community, Geoffrey Solomons, a resident of Rectory Avenue, was handed a prison sentence of nine and a half years after admitting to multiple serious child sex offences. The conviction stems from a series of disturbing crimes committed over a span of more than a decade, involving vulnerable young girls under the age of 13.

According to court records, Solomons was found guilty of five counts of indecent assault, two counts of engaging in indecency with a child, and two counts of having sexual relations with a minor. These offences took place between the years 1972 and 1983, during which he preyed upon three young girls, all under the age of 13 at the time of the abuse. The lengthy period over which these crimes occurred highlights the troubling nature of the case and the importance of justice for the victims.

Solomons, aged 57 at the time of his sentencing, chose to plead guilty to the charges on June 20. His sentencing took place on September 24 at Oxford Crown Court, where the court heard the full extent of his crimes and the impact on the victims. The case drew attention not only because of the heinous nature of the offences but also due to the courage displayed by the victims in coming forward after many years of silence.

Investigating officer Sergeant Kate Burton expressed her gratitude towards the victims for their bravery. She stated, “I want to personally thank these victims for having the bravery to come forward. That can’t have been easy after so much time. But thanks to their courage, this man is now behind bars.” Burton also acknowledged the importance of witness cooperation, saying, “I also want to thank the witnesses who came forward in this case. I hope such an outcome will help the victims, who have lived with what he did their entire lives.”

Her comments underscore the dedication of law enforcement to pursuing justice in cases of historical abuse, and the message that authorities take such reports very seriously. The case serves as a reminder that, regardless of the passage of time, justice can still be pursued and achieved for victims of child abuse, reinforcing the community’s commitment to protecting its most vulnerable members.
