St Helens Child Sexual Abuser
In June 2014, a 40-year-old man from St Helens, Gary Wilkinson, was legally restricted from certain online activities after admitting to multiple child pornography offences.

Wilkinson, residing at Lancashire Gardens in The Shires, pleaded guilty to nine counts of possessing indecent images of children. The magistrates' court in St Helens was informed that these offences occurred at his home between 2007 and 2012.

As part of his sentencing, Wilkinson received a 36-month community order, which includes a requirement to attend a 36-day sex offender rehabilitation program.

Additionally, he was issued a five-year sexual offences prevention order, which explicitly prohibits him from having unrestricted access to the internet.

Under this order, Wilkinson cannot own an internet-enabled device unless it is capable of retaining and displaying its internet history. He is also barred from deleting any of his internet history or possessing devices that can store digital images unless he makes them available for police inspection upon request.
