Weaverham Child Abuser
A NORTHWICH man will face 'all options' at sentencing next month after admitting child sex abuse images offences at Chester Magistrates Court.Gary Taylor, of Rowan Road, Weaverham, pleaded guilty to three charges of making an indecent photograph of a child plus one charge of possessing indecent images. The 61-year-old admitted being in possession of 22 indecent images of a child including uploading four Category A images - the most serious - as well as six Category B and 12 Category C, featuring children from infant to nine years old.Prosecutor Diana Przemecka told the court that, in August last year, intelligence was received by police that Taylor had used a Kik social media account to upload the images between June 1, 2022, and August last year. They included videos of children of a young age and that he answered no comment at interview.Ms Przemecka called for an all-options report and added that his sentencing can be dealt with at the lower court. Richard Sibeon, acting for Taylor, said his client’s early guilty plea and previous good character would be taken into consideration. He said: “It is a relatively small amount of images and your extended sentencing means it can be dealt with here. There will need to be a pre-sentence report to show that this was a short-lived venture which he himself desisted from doing and got rid of the images prior to arrest.” Chairman of the bench John Rooney confirmed the lower court will take jurisdiction for the sentencing on Friday, May 9. Taylor was ordered to register as a sex offender at Blacon Custody Suite and was given conditional bail including not living or sleeping at a property with people aged under 18. Also, he must not have unsupervised contact with anyone aged under 18 without prior permission from social services and must notify an officer if changing his address.
