GARY STEDMAN FROM STOKE-ON-TRENT JAILED FOR ONLINE GROOMING AND MEETING PLAN

In January 2019, 48-year-old Gary Stedman of Stoke-on-Trent was taken into custody after admitting to attempting to groom a girl who was only 13 years old via online communication. He had made arrangements to meet her at Everton's football stadium. However, he was stopped by paedophile hunters who intercepted him outside a club shop. Stedman received a prison sentence of 21 months, was ordered to register as a sex offender, and was instructed to avoid contact with minors for the next seven years.
