TEACHER JAILED FOR NON-RECENT CHILD SEX OFFENCES AGAINST PUPIL
Gary Day-Davies, born on 02/10/1970 and residing in Tyldesley, was sentenced to 15 years in prison by Liverpool Crown Court on Monday, 8 June 2026, after being convicted of historical child sex offences. He was found guilty of three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault by penetration, and one count of sexual assault by touching involving a minor.
The offending took place between 2006 and 2009, when the victim was attending a school in Salford where Day-Davies was employed as a staff member.
The abuse was committed both at the school and at his residence, where he had invited the victim for extra tuition sessions.
During these visits, Day-Davies administered drugs and alcohol to the victim before sexually abusing her.
The survivor came forward to police in 2022, which triggered a comprehensive investigation.
Throughout the legal process, Day-Davies denied the allegations and offered little explanation during his trial, suggesting that the charges were likely due to a personal grudge held by the victim against him.
