GARY CROOK FROM HARTLEY SENTENCED TO 18 YEARS FOR CHILD RAPE IN EAST SUSSEX AND KENT

In a case that has shocked the local communities of East Sussex and Kent, Gary Crook, a 37-year-old man residing on High Street in Hartley, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after admitting to the heinous crime of repeatedly raping a young child.

The disturbing incidents took place over a span of two years, from 2014 to 2016, at various locations in the towns of Lenham and Ashford, both situated in Kent.

Crook's arrest was made on Thursday, June 2, 2016, following the brave disclosure of the victim, who revealed the details of the abuse.

The police responded swiftly, executing a search of Crook’s residence, where they confiscated multiple electronic devices.

Among these were two mobile phones that contained hundreds of indecent images of children, further evidencing the extent of his criminal activities.

During the subsequent court proceedings, Crook pleaded guilty to eight counts of rape along with several other sexual offences.

His admission of guilt came prior to his sentencing at Canterbury Crown Court on Friday, March 3, 2017.
